This is not a recipe. This is the tasty result of a spur-of-the-moment experiment. Ready to go on an adventure in the kitchen? OK. Let’s go.
Strawberry Balsamic Pork Chops
Ingredients
- pork chops (boneless)
- strawberries (hulled and halved)
- packet balsamic vinegar
- apple cider vinegar
- olive oil
- kosher salt
Directions
| Step 1 | |
| Wash and pat dry pork chops. Salt both sides. Set aside. | |
| Step 2 | |
| In a container, macerate strawberries with roughly 2 parts balsamic vinegar, 1 part apple cider vinegar and 2 parts olive oil. Alter quantities of each ingredient to taste. | |
| Step 3 | |
| Add pork chops to container and coat with strawberry-vinegar mixture. Marinate or use immediately. | |
| Step 4 | |
| Heat oil (I used grapeseed) in a pan on medium heat and cook pork chops and marinade about 4 minutes on each side. Remove pork chops from pan. | |
| Step 5 | |
| Add a small amount of water to the pan and deglaze on medium heat to make a jus. Spoon jus over cooked pork chops and serve. | |
That wasn’t so hard, was it? A little scary, sure. But we trusted our taste buds and ended up with a delicious meal!
I served our pork chops with baked tater tots and peas. What would you serve with these pork chops?
